This workshop explores the rapid rise of PET foam core as a preferred alternative to traditional core materials such as PVC and SAN. Participants will gain insight into its unique combination of properties, including excellent fatigue performance, strong temperature stability, and wide compatibility with both thermoset and thermoplastic resins.
The session highlights how thermoplastic r-PET foam enables advanced processing methods such as thermoforming, supports recyclability, and contributes to more sustainable composite solutions. With a focus on ArmaPET, a patented material made from recycled PET bottles, the workshop will also demonstrate how fully thermoplastic sandwich structures can address end-of-life challenges across industries including transport, wind energy, and construction.
Through practical case studies, attendees will learn how r-PET foam cores are applied in structural sandwich designs and understand the key properties driving innovation in lightweight composite applications.
